Step 1: Establishing Need

The step-by-step guide can be printed at the last page of 'Know How'. To get there you need to go through each step by clicking the blue arrow on the righthand side of the menu.

• Discuss the concept and uses of competency mapping with your leadership and the HR manager.
• Identify a champion or small team in the youth group that will work closely together to conduct the mapping exercise. The ideal person is the HR manager. If there is no HR manager, then a person from management should be selected.
