Privacy & Cookie statement

Stichting KidsRights (hereinafter: “KidsRights” or “we”) values the protection of your personal data and transparency in relation thereto. This privacy statement describes how we collect, share, use and/or otherwise process, information through which you can be identified or are identifiable (“personal data”). 

KidsRights is responsible for the processing of your personal data on our websites and/or as provided by you in view of your registration with Change the Game Academy Youth.

When you leave your personal data, it is carefully processed and treated in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and this privacy statement.

2.Types of personal data and processing purposes 

Registration with Change the Game Academy Youth
When you want to register and become a Member of Change the Game Academy Youth we process the following types of personal data: 

  • Email address
  • Other content (e.g. personal data in the uploaded project plan)

We will collect and use your data to process your membership, to approach and support you in your changemaking activities (starting an initiative) or to give feedback on provided initiatives or content and to give you information about our work and (the initiatives in connection with) State of Youth. If you no longer want to receive our general information newsletters, you are able to opt-out at any time via a link in the email.

Using the website
While using our websites, we collect and use the following personal data:

  • IP address and device type (anonymized)
  • Cookies and (anonymized) usage date on how our website is used

3.Lawful basis for processing

KidsRights processes your personal data on the basis of consent, performance of contract, to comply with a legal obligation or when we have a legitimate interest to do so. 

4.Sharing personal data with third parties

KidsRights will not sell your personal data to third parties. Your personal data will only be made available to third parties if you have provided your consent, if this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you, or if we are legally obliged to do so.

5.Protection and retention of your data

KidsRights takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. 

We retain your personal data no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we have collected the personal data, or in correspondence with an applicable statutory retention term. You may at all times request the removal of your personal data. We will inform you if the request for removal is allowed, in which case we will remove your personal data without delay.

6.Cookies

On our websites we place cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit the website. KidsRights only uses functional cookies and analytical cookies that do not infringe your privacy. The cookies ensure that the website works properly and remember, for example, your preferences (e.g. language settings). The cookies also help us to optimize the website and to enhance the user experience.

You can opt out of cookies by setting your internet browser in such a way that it does not store cookies anymore. In addition, you can also delete all information previously saved via the settings of your Internet browser.

7.Question or complaint 

If you have the impression that your personal data is not properly secured or if there are indications of misuse, please contact us via the above contact information. KidsRights also wants to point out that you have the opportunity to file a complaint with the relevant national data protection authority. For the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. 8.Applicable law and changes

This privacy statement, as well as any disputes arising therefrom or in connection therewith, shall be exclusively governed by Dutch law.

KidsRights reserves the right to unitarily amend this Privacy Statement in order to ensure compliance with applicable law and regulations. We recommend that you consult this Privacy Statement on a regular basis in order to be aware of potential changes or updates.
